UBUD, Bali

UBUD, Bali

When indecisive where to go Bali is always a good choice. I ventured out to experience the traditional and cultural part of the island, Ubud. Bali is surprisingly home to Balinese Hinduism, unlike the rest of Muslim population of Indonesia.

Therefore you can visit numerous ancient temples and see a form of Balinese dance and music drama from the Hindu epic Ramayana called Kecak Ramayana. It is an Indonesian version of original Indian epic poem that depicts a story of prince Rama rescuing his wife Sita from demon Ravana. The performance is rich in costumography and music.

I am also very active traveller and never miss out on a good hike wherever I go. The hiking I did was to mount Batur one of the last active volcanoes on the island. We took off at 2am in the morning with flashlights in our hands and reached the top just in time for the sunrise. I was lucky enough with the weather to see the mesmerising sunrise.
