I know for many, the first thing that comes to their mind of the thought of Paris is Eiffel tower, Champs-Elysees, Notre Dame and numerous other famous attractions.
Despite being truly one of the most beautiful cities in the world, however, on one of my trips to Paris I discovered the dark and less famous underworld, Catacombs of Paris. It is a small tunnel with the remains of over 6 million people from different Parisian cemeteries dating back to late 18th century. The purpose of this bone yard was to try to erase the expanding number of city’s cemeteries.
It’s always exciting to discover and learn something new every day.
