Probably not your typical holiday destination but for people who like adventures and outdoor activities it should be added on their bucket list. Oman has an amazing landscape, from surrounding mountains, desert and beautiful colors of Arabian sea and Gulf of Oman. Muscat is a quiet port capital. However Oman is worth visiting for its various wadis. One of the best one is Wadi Shab, which is just couple hour’s drive from Muscat and on the way to Wadi Tiwi or Bimmah Sinkhole.
Another famous attraction of Oman is Jebel Shams or the so called ‘Grand Canyon’ of Oman. The most memorable experience for me has got to be the turtle viewing at Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve that nests endangered green turtle. If you are lucky enough you will be able to witness their nesting and laying eggs on the beach at night, with the moon lighting it all up to see them stroll back into the sea. No photographs are allowed to take but can assure you it will be worth witnessing this miracle of mother nature.
